Meet Melanie
Clinical Psychologist
Hi, I’m Melanie. I’m a registered clinical psychologist who enjoys working with clients of all ages. I completed my undergraduate degree and my Masters in Clinical Psychology at Flinders University in South Australia. I also hold a degree in Education and have worked as a teacher in different settings and with children of diverse ages.

I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts and emotions. I believe in a cooperative client-therapist approach where therapy goals are explored together and clients develop an increased self-awareness and cultivate their inner strengths.

My therapeutic style is trauma-informed and treatment approaches are tailored to each client’s needs using evidence-based modalities.

When I’m not working, I try to keep fit, do lots of walking with my dog, a bit of yoga, and meditation helps me stay grounded. I love reading and travelling when I can fit it in. I grew up overseas and lived in Japan for a bit. I speak German and French, and a bit of Japanese is left there somewhere.

I am keen to work with clients of all cultural backgrounds.

Why Clinical Psychology?
It can help with

Anxiety
Clinical psychology offers effective strategies for managing anxiety and related symptoms, helping individuals regain control over their lives.
Depression
Therapy focuses on tackling depression and its effects on everyday life, helping individuals find their way to healing and recovery.
Trauma
A trauma-focused approach aims to empower individuals to process and cope with traumatic experiences, fostering resilience and strength.

Psychological Assessments
Psychological and developmental assessments for children, adolescents and adults can help individuals and families better understand their functioning and inform their potential support needs. As a clinical psychologist, my assessment reports can be used to access NDIS funding.
Grief and Loss
Dealing with grief and loss is a natural process that can be overwhelming. Compassionate support can help individuals navigate through this difficult journey.
Self-Exploration
Therapy sessions encourage self-exploration and personal growth, guiding individuals towards a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences.
